― PDA, Dialogue

The Seaglide is a handheld deployable vehicle which increases the user's top speed when held. It can be crafted by using the Fabricator. The Seaglide occupies six slots in the player's inventory. It has a top speed of 18.5 knots (21 mph, 34 kph).
The Seaglide consumes energy when used, and as with all other vehicles it's rendered unusable once its energy reserve is depleted. The empty battery can be replaced with a new one using the R key to select a replacement from the players held batteries. On a full charge, the Seaglide can travel approximately 3800 meters.
The Seaglide also possesses a small 3D map of the immediate terrain. It also has a flashlight that can be toggled on and off with the right mouse button. The flashlight does use energy. Toggling the flashlight (using the right mouse button) three times consecutively will toggle the map on or off.
The Seaglide's speed is fixed and is not affected at all by the player's Fins, Suit, and Oxygen tanks like the Standard O₂ Tank will not slow it down. The fragments can be found in the Kelp Forest and in Safe Shallows.
While wearing Swim Charge Fins, the Seaglide's power drains a lot slower, though if one uses the flashlight the power drains at normal rate.

If an Ion Battery is used alongside the Swim Charge Fins, it will actually slowly gain power while traveling at max speed instead, providing effectively infinite use. |
Uses
The Seaglide can be carried in the inventory and must be assigned to the toolbar to be used. When used, it drastically increases the player's swimming speed. It doesn't have a depth limit, and thus functions anywhere the player goes underwater. However, it cannot be used at or above sea level. The player will swim at normal speed until they submerge.
