Quartz is a raw material found on the seabed of many Biomes and in most Caves.
Description
Quartz appears in game as large, whitish-grey clusters of crystals protruding from a course-grained grey rock in the center. A faint glow is emitted from Quartz, which can be seen at night and makes it much easier to locate.
Quartz can be found as a large resource deposit. Said deposits are especially plentiful in the Lost River, Grand Reef, Dunes and Crag Field.

Trivia
- The formula SiO4 given in the description of Quartz is incorrect, as SiO4 isolated is not a stable molecule, rather it is an ion. The correct formula would be SiO2. This is a fairly common error, as the crystal structure of quartz when represented as a Lewis structure or 3D model appears to show each silicon atom bonded to four atoms of oxygen, however these oxygen atoms are in fact shared with other silicon atoms, meaning the correct formula is SiO2.
