Habitat Builder (Subnautica)

From Subnautica Wiki

Template:Infobox itemThe Alterra handheld Habitat Builder (shortened as Habitat Builder) is a tool crafted using the fabricator.

The Habitat Builder allows the player to build a variety of stationary items. It is a crucial tool for the deployment of seabases and the customization of the interiors of both seabases and the Cyclops.

While the Habitat Builder uses batteries to operate, the energy source doesn't seem to deplete during usage.

Uses

If a Bleeder latches onto the player's arm, the player can use the Habitat Builder to hit the Bleeder.

Data Bank Entry

The Alterra handheld habitat builder has been an essential tool of xenoscientists, colonists and emergency relief crews across seven different empires for more than 50 years.

Habitat modules are hermetically sealed from the outside environment, and may be built on land, underwater, or in a vacuum. Oxygen and power systems are not fitted as standard and must be built separately. Most capital ships carry a full complement of advanced modules and reactors for quick deployment in the field.

Habitats can be enhanced to become long-term homes, remote research stations, defensive outposts and more.

Pressure Ratings:

  • A basic corridor module on a proper foundation withstands over 1,200m equivalent depth below sea level before buckling under pressure
  • However, connecting multiple modules increases the forces involved, lowering overall integrity
  • Three rooms connected by corridors with no foundation will buckle at a depth of just 600m
  • These ratings can be improved by reinforcing the standard modules
