Detecting multiple leviathan class lifeforms in the region. Are you certain whatever you're doing is worth it?
― PDA, Dialogue

The Dunes is a biome located west from Lifepod 5, on the edge of the map, bordering one of the Grassy Plateaus, Sea Treader's Path, one of the Safe Shallows, 1st Blood Kelp Zone, one of the Mushroom Forests, an unassigned biome and the Void.
The Dunes also harbors a crater from a meteor impact, the third Precursor Cache can be found in the crater.
Description
The Dunes features vast, sandy plains and dunes, sometimes littered with various types of rock structures. It is also home to many dangerous types of Fauna, the most notable threat being Reaper Leviathans patrolling the open spaces of the biome.
Even in the daytime, the Dunes are quite dark and murky, making it difficult to see threats ahead of you. It is recommended to keep track of where Reapers reside and give them a wide berth.
Wreck 6 is found within the Dunes, laying on a flat sandbank.

Trivia
- There used to be entrances to the Inactive Lava Zone and Lost River. They have been removed for unknown reasons. (This is now the Crater).
