It can only be found as a large resource deposit in the Inactive Lava Zone and more sparingly in the Active Lava Zone, making it difficult to mine.

• Kyanite is implied to be involved in Precursor operations because of a cropped crafting tree shown on Trello.^{[Citation needed]}
• Considering this, along with its properties as a heat-resistant material, this probably makes Kyanite part of the recipe for the metal alloys that the Precursor Bases are made of.
