Template:Infobox Biome The Safe Shallows is the Biome that the player and Lifepod 5 crash landed in. The Shallows can be found West of the Aurora, towards the center of the map.

It is a relatively shallow area, and also a killer biome, featuring coral reefs sprawling over a large part of the ocean. It also features many Cavern Systems. As the name implies, this biome is one of the safest in the game, as there are few environmental hazards and almost no predators. However, caution should still be taken for the occasional Gasopod passing through, and the caves are frequently home to hostile Crashes. While rare, a Stalker may also wander into the biome, though they will never go far from the Kelp Forests.

The Safe Shallows offers plentiful diving experiences for all players, especially new ones, as it is home to a variety of life forms, Corals, Fauna and Flora alike, which are mostly Edible. It also features a great abundance of harvest-able Materials. The one disadvantage is that it can be quite difficult to pilot a Cyclops through the biome, necessitating one to take detours through or around it.
