Revision as of 16:29, 27 March 2018
This page is intended for all kinds of materials we could use in creating a comprehensive map for Subnautica. Feel free to add your own maps in the gallery section.
F1 (Error: Invalid Button Specified+Error: Invalid Button Specifiedon Xbox) is the current default keybinding to access the player interface. this shows the players current coordinates within the game.
Please use the Source Editor to manipulate the table (self-explanatory) and don't forget to use the nowiki tags to make sure the table doesn't get screwed up.
The "y" coordinate is significant, as caves may include structures/locations of interest. Don't forget to include it.
The (1), (2), etc. mean that a cave entrance is connected to another one of the same type.
Coordinate Conventions
If the coordinates in the game confuse you, then hopefully this section will make things a bit clearer.
Traditional maps use a convention of (X, Y, Z) for coordinate notation with the respective axes as (East/West, North/South, Up/Down).
Subnautica uses a different convention:
X | Y | Z |
---|---|---|
Longitude
+ve = East -ve = West |
Depth
+ve = Up -ve = Down |
Latitude
+ve = North -ve = South |
A Small Note on In-Game Maps
If you came here in search of information on a mapping feature for Subnautica:
Maps have been part of early versions of the game twice before, and at the moment, the developers are not planning on adding them again.
Therefore, there are two feasible ways of accomplishing this. Either creating your own map, or using one of the maps in the gallery section below.
