Template:Infobox:Fauna Flora The Gasopod is a life form belonging to the fauna category.

It can be found in both the Safe Shallows and the Grassy Plateaus, slowly cruising through the water.

A 3D model of the Gasopod can be found here

Appearance

The Gasopod is a fairly large creature with a plump body that ends in a spherical sort of tail. Its skin is segmented, especially on its back, and the area around the tail is covered in large, green-yellow warts. The Gasopod has two eyes and a trunk, but no discernible mouth. Two small fins extend from its neck and it has large, paddle-like flippers that protrude towards its sides. Towards the rear, it also features a back fin.

The eyes are of the same color as the warts. The Gasopod's back is of a bluish gray, while the belly is of a light khaki color.

Behavior

The Gasopod is not hostile toward the player and is not going to attack the player directly. However, if the players approaches it carelessly, the Gasopod will start releasing a green liquid that will lower the player's health if he swims through it, even if it does not visually affect the native life-forms. The Gasopod can also release this gas if feeling threatened by other aggressive animals. The low speed of the Gasopod, probably due to its great size, allows the player to retreat quite easily if this happens. The Gasopod appears to be diurnal, being active only during the day.
