The Destroyed Lifepods are small survival vessels that were launched from the Aurora during its descent. While several lifepods survived initially, by the time the player awoke in Lifepod 5 it was the only one intact.
As of now, seven destroyed lifepods are present in-game.

Future Plans
In the future, destroyed lifepods will be moved out of the Safe Shallows and Kelp Forest, to the Grassy Plateaus.[1] They will also have PDA left behind by their occupants, detailing their fate and hinting at new technologies to be acquired.
