The Jellyshroom Cave is a cave system found below the Grassy Plateaus, Kelp Forest, and Safe Shallows. |
|||
The entrance to these caves usually is a hole in the seabed. To get to the cave, the player needs to navigate through multiple levels of stone layers. The caves are characterized by giant purple jellyfish-like mushrooms, small and strange looking bioluminescent plants and large stalagmites and massive groups of stalactites hanging from the ceiling. |
|||
Four entrances can be found at coordinates: (130 -95 -390), (-360 -110 -225), (-495 -90 15), and (-725 -105 0). |
|||
While the entrances are generally quite narrow and make it hard or impossible for the Cyclops to enter, the player should encounter no problems when using the Seamoth. The cave entrances quickly open up into huge caverns. However, despite the dimensions, the labyrinthine structures of the Jelly Shroom Caves and the lack of light make it easy to get lost. |
|||
The area is explorable via the Seamoth, but it is dangerous to do so without a Seamoth Depth Module MK1 or higher due to the biome's depth. The Seamoth Perimeter Defense System upgrade is also advisable, but not needed, due to the Crabsnakes’ tendency to ambush the player from the Jellyshrooms themselves. |
|||
There is a large slit like entrance in one of the red zones, and a couple of tunnels that go up in the opposing zone on the other side of the safe shallows, effectively making the cave span the area under the starting safe shallows. |
|||
Exploring the caves with the Prawn Suit is possible but challenging without the Grappling Arm and/or Jump Jet Upgrade to get back out of the caves. |
|||
At the moment, the signal, a tool from experimental mode, can be used to show cave entrances in the vicinity. |

― PDA, Dialogue

The Jellyshroom Cave is a cave system found below the Grassy Plateaus, Kelp Forest, and Safe Shallows.
Four entrances can be found at coordinates: (130 -95 -390), (-360 -110 -225), (-495 -90 15), and (-725 -105 0).
Exploring the caves with the Prawn Suit is possible but challenging without the Grappling Arm and/or Jump Jet Upgrade to get back out of the caves.
Description
The Jellyshroom Cave is a large cavern characterized by a dense population of huge, translucent, purple Jellyshrooms, along with structures such as stalactites and stalagmites.
The cave system has two predatory species and two prey species. The most notable of these are the Crabsnakes residing in the Jellyshrooms, and the Oculus, both of which are found only in this biome.
Shale Outcrops and Magnetite can be found here, as well as various Large Resource Deposits.

Trivia
- The abundance of Stalactites suggests that these caverns were dry-standing for several million years, only later being flooded presumably when the ceiling collapsed due to erosion - this might explain why its native ecosystem is so uniquely different from all bordering biomes.
- The ambience noise is the same as the Blood Kelp Zones.
- The Jellyshroom Cave is the only biome to feature Large Magnetite Deposits in the game.
