Quartz is a raw material found on the seabed of many Biomes and in most caves.

Description

Quartz appears in game as a large, whitish-grey cluster of crystals protruding from a large-grained grey rock in the center. Quartz is illuminated during nighttime, making it easy to spot.

Quartz can be found as a large resource deposit. Said deposits are especially plentiful in the Tree Spires and Crystal Caves.

It can be found as a Ore Vein. Which especially plentiful in the Arctic Spires.

It can also be acquired from Sea Monkeys which offer the player resources.

Trivia

• The formula SiO⁴ given in the description of Quartz is incorrect, as SiO⁴ isolated is not a stable molecule, rather it is an ion (the orthosilicate anion). The correct formula would be SiO². This is a fairly common error, as the crystal structure of quartz when represented as a Lewis structure or 3D model appears to show each silicon atom bonded to four atoms of oxygen, however these oxygen atoms are in fact shared with other silicon atoms, meaning the correct formula is SiO².
