The Dunes is a biome located west from Lifepod 5, on the edge of the map, bordering one of the Grassy Plateaus, Sea Treader's Path, one of the Safe Shallows, 1st Blood Kelp Zone, the Northwestern Mushroom Forest and the Void.

The Dunes also harbors a crater from a meteor impact, the third Precursor Cache can be found in the crater. A Giant Sinkhole can also be found near a Wreck and the meteor impact.

Description

The Dunes features vast, sandy plains and dunes, sometimes littered with various types of rock structures. It is also home to many dangerous types of Fauna, the most notable threat being five Reaper Leviathans patrolling the open spaces of the biome.

Even in the daytime, the Dunes are quite dark and murky, making it difficult to see threats ahead of you. It is recommended to keep track of where Reapers reside and give them a wide berth.

Wreck 6 is found within the Dunes, laying on a flat sandbank with many beneficial resources.

Trivia

The Dunes once served as an entrance to the Inactive Lava Zone and Lost River, it is unknown why these entrances were removed. However, the entrance is now used for the crater.
