The Communications Relay is an in-development item that is constructed with the Habitat Builder. It can also be found when starting the game, on the back side of the Lifepod.

Uses

Once the player starts up the game, after two minutes the Communications Relay will beep and inform the player that a new message has arrived albeit with no sound.

Messages

  • "This is an automated bounce back from the Aurora Mining Vessel. Your distress signal has been received. An emergency relief team will be dispatched to your location. *Static* Estimated arrival time: 9...9...9...9...9 hours"
  • "This is Second Officer Keen, broadcasting to all surviving Aurora crew! Captain Hollister is gone. I have assumed command. The computer has identified dry land aproximatley 750m south of the crash site. Your orders are to stay together, ensure your immeditate safety, and the regroup at the attached co-ordinates. Good luck. Over and out.
  • "This is an automated distress signal from Aurora Lifepod 17. Co-ordinates attached. Please send immediate emergency relief team"
  • "This is Aurora Senior Engineer LaFette, broadcasting from Lifepod 7! We have survived impact, but flotation devices have failed to deploy and we are sinking! Co-ordinates attached! Will attempt repair! Anticipate losing radio contact at- *Static*"

Future Plans

In the future, the player will need to complete certain tasks in order to receive messages.

Speculation

In the future, it may be used to help the player to get rescued.

  • A fifth message is received by the player later in the game. The day this message is received varies. It displays: You've been down too long in the midnight sea. Oh don't you see what I mean? This message is a reference to the song Holy Diver by the US heavy metal band DIO.
