Subnautica features a mechanic that allows the player to sample DNA from alien life forms and transfuse them onto the player or other creatures.

To do so, the player needs to sample the DNA of a creature using a tool called the Transfuser. While crafting the Transfuser is still disabled in current builds, it can be spawned by using the Debug Console Commands.

In the future, the Propulsion Cannon will be able to launch DNA serums from a distance.[1]
