Game Modes

While it is too early to say what game modes Subnautica will feature on release the games source files are hinting at possibly three modes.

  1. Survival
  2. Freedom
  3. Hardcore

Additionally a set of Prototypes was made available for fans through the Subnautica Special Edition (10.000 copies).

Survival

  • Hunger and Thirst

Freedom

  • No Hunger and Thirst

Hardcore

  • Permadeath

Hardcore mode is assumed to play like the Normal mode - the difference being that the player has one life only.
