Appearance
Outpost Omega is composed of two Multipurpose Rooms and a Large Room, all connected by a modified Basic Compartment with a Hatch and the Large Room joined directly to its midsection. The Large Room and Multipurpose Rooms cannot be scanned. Outside, there is a lone Foundation with nothing on it. The compartment contains a Medical Kit Fabricator, but it does not function and cannot be scanned.
The right Multipurpose Room has a scannable Glass Dome roof, and planters, as well as a Water Filtration Machine and a Data Box with the Control Room blueprint.
The left Multipurpose Room is the base's living quarters, and is divided into three sections using Large Room Partitions: two bedrooms and a small entry area with Benches, a Coffee Vending Machine, Vending Machine and Trash Can. The left-hand bedroom contains a Jukebox Disk on the Single Bed, and both contain scannable Picture Frames.
The Large Room is behind a scannable Bulkhead. It serves as the main lab and contains various equipment, including Desks, a couple of Batteries on a Wall Shelf (though these cannot be picked up), a Power Cell Charger, a Nuclear Reactor, a Nuclear Waste Disposal, and a large table-like piece of equipment directly in front of the entrance to the room. Two PDAs can be found in this room, one on a side-desk and one on the large piece of equipment.
The base has internal lighting and a functioning oxygen supply, but all equipment inside counts as powered-down and cannot be used.

Trivia
- The former name for the Research Base Omega was Research Base Cappa. The Cappa incarnation had a somewhat different structure including a Scanner Room, two Observatories and a Moonpool, and had a completely flooded interior. Nothing within it could be scanned.
- During earlier builds of Below Zero there was a base in the Thermal Spires called Research Base Omega which was cut for unknown reasons.
- Before the Methane Ice Caves biome was cut from the game, a second copy of Research Base Cappa could be found there as the first iteration of Marguerit Maida's Base.
- Research Base Omega contains a Centrifuge, which is cut content from Subnautica.
- The functionless single Foundation in front of the base, present in both the Cappa and Omega versions of the base, is most likely a relic of the cut Recharge Platform.
