It fires gas from Gas Pods, creating a damaging cloud of poison. The gas cloud has the same effect as the gas from the gas pods both in terms of damage and visual appearance. When fired, the Gas Torpedo will lock on to nearby creatures. If there is a Leviathan Class Predator nearby, it will automatically lock onto it regardless of other nearby creatures. The icon for the Gas Torpedo's icon is slightly different to that of the Vortex Torpedo; although it shares the same model.

• Because of its nature, the Gas Torpedo can be classified as the game's only lethal weapon. The Knife may be also considered as such but its purpose serves more as a survival tool.
