Giveaway Items
Hull Plates are placeable items built by using the builder. They can only be placed inside of the Cyclops.
This feature is in development, so not all of it has been implemented yet.
At the moment, the access to these items is restricted. One either needs to have purchased the Subnautica Special Edition or have a special activation code that can be redeemed in an in-game menu. Redeeming a code successfully adds the item in question to the player's Steam inventory and unlocks it inside the game.
Several variants of the Hull Plate exist. Some of them are dedicated to certain Youtubers. Except for one, all of them are tradeable inside the Steam economy.
For common players this other variants are not available, but the redeem code is given to the rightful owner and only that person can build it in-game. However the other players can visit the museum: "ENTGALLERY" to see them there.
Special Hull Plate Upgrade
- The Special Hull Plate Upgrade is a variant of the Hull Plate that was available to those who bought the Subnautica Special Edition only via HumbleBundle.
- Which is no longer available. Each of these plates features a unique, manually inserted number and the purchase date (this was a big part of the reason that the old special edition is gone. The numbering system was incredibly difficult with how Steam is set up).
What will be included in a steam edition has not been solidified yet. It may or may not include some form a Hull Plate. If it does, it will not include any numbering. However the future steam edition will get the exact same updates. The old special edition was just the steam edition plus a few other things. They all update via steam.
