The Sparse Reef is a unique biome located southwest of Lifepod 5, bordering one of the Grassy Plateaus, the first Blood Kelp Zone, Floating Island, Sea Treader's Path and the Grand Reef. As its name implies, this area is very sparse and is home to a few types of small fauna and flora. This biome is also the location of a Precursor Cache.

Description

The Sparse Reef is composed of relatively flat areas covered by green mounds, scattered with Brain Coral, as well as large fissures where most of the bioluminescent flora inhabit, notably the Eyes Stalks.

There are also spire-like structures found along the border of the Sparse Reef next to the Grassy Plateaus, under the Floating Island and near the Grand Reef.

Trivia

  • The voice of Donald Trump saying "China" is featured in the soundtrack of the Sparse Reef. It is very hard to hear, and blends in well to the soundtrack.
