Alien Robot (Subnautica)

Template:Class 2 Fauna The Alien Drone is an in-development entity. They were created by the Precursors to act as repair bots, and as such are equipped with two welding tools. They are also programmed to defend Precursor Bases from intruding lifeforms, and will use the aforementioned tools as weapons if the need arises.

Appearance

The drone is similar in size and shape to the Cave Crawler, presumably in an attempt to blend in to the local wildlife and disrupt their habitat as little as possible.

Behaviour

Upon sighting the Player, the drones become aggressive. Thrusting their two welding tools towards the player, dealing 3% damage per hit.

Data Bank Entry

This device does not match any know human technology, although it's design is relatively simple. It's only observed behaviour has been attacking local lifeforms in a radius around the ancient structures. - Features few moving parts - Carries a rechargable, ion based power reserve  - Reliable and energy efficient Modeling the age and purpose of the device is difficult. It's relative harmlessness is at odds with the advanced technology apparently available to it's designers.  Assessment: Further data required

Future Plans

• Alien Drones will inhabit and defend Precursor Bases.

Trivia

• The looks for the Alien Drones were inspired by Cave Crawlers, and in early development they shared the same set of animations, currently they use a set of animations similar to the Cave Crawler, but augmented to look more mechanical.
