The Sparse Reef is a unique biome located southwest of Lifepod 5, bordering one of the Grassy Plateaus, 1st Blood Kelp Zone, Floater Island, Sea Treader's Path and the Grand Reef. As its name implies, this area is very sparse and is home to a few types of small fauna and flora.

Description

The Sparse Reef is composed of relatively flat areas covered by green mounds, scattered with Brain Coral, as well as large fissures where most of the bioluminescent plants inhabit, notably the Eyes Stalks.

There are also spire-like structures found along the border of the Sparse Reef next to the Grassy Plateaus, under the Floater Island and near the Grand Reef.

Trivia

  • The voice of Donald Trump saying "China" is featured in the soundtrack of the Sparse Reef.
  • The sparse reef is one of the best food sources in the game. This is because the lack of any predators allows the spadefish / reginalds multiply in numbers quickly.
