Upgrade Modules are software drives that create improvements to the Cyclops, Seamoth, and Scanner Room.

The Upgrade Modules that are intended for the Cyclops are crafted using the Fabricator onboard of the Cyclops. The menu point that says "Submarine" does not show up on fabricators within Seabases. The Upgrade Modules for the Seamoth and Prawn Suit are crafted with the mini-fabricator at the Vehicle Modification Station.

Upgrade Modules for the Cyclops can be placed in the upgrade console found in the engine room of the Cyclops. Four Upgrade Modules can be applied at once and the effect of each stack.

Upgrades to the Seamoth can be placed in a panel on the Seamoth's left side. Like the Cyclops, up to four Upgrade Modules can be applied at once. The Seamoth also has a Paperdoll UI like the PDA. Certain Upgrade Modules such as the Storage Module can differ depending on which slot it is placed.

Upgrades to the Scanner Room can be placed in a panel inside the Scanner Room. Like the Cyclops and Seamoth, up to four Upgrade Modules can be applied at once. The Scanner Room also has a Paperdoll UI like the PDA.

Upgrade Modules should not be confused with the upgrades that the Modification Station does to certain Tools and pieces of Equipment.
