It is used to power Nuclear Reactors. Up to four Reactor Rods can be placed in a single Nuclear Reactor. Reactor Rods can supply 10000 energy. Once they are consumed, they will leave behind Depleted Reactor Rods. These can be disposed of in the Nuclear Waste Disposal.
