Template:Class 2 Fauna The Crabsquid is a large, aggressive life form belonging to the fauna category. It can be found in the Northern Blood Kelp Zone, the Deep Grand Reef and the Lost River.

Appearance

The Crabsquid's main body has two layers; a translucent, bulbous sack resembling a comb jelly's body, and a shimmering, brown green body similar to that of a real life squid's mantle, also being covered with an outer shell or exoskeleton.

The Crabsquid's head consists of four large blue eyes and an oddly shaped mandible below them.

The Crabsquid's lower body resembles that of a Japanese spider/horseshoe crab. Its ten limbs are brown-colored and smooth. Some of them have pointed tips, others have fins, and the two shortest ones near its mouth form a pair of comparably small pincers.

Behavior

This large predator can be found in deep waters, where it lurks amongst the blood kelp and membrane trees in search of prey.

  • 10 limbs feature different appendages for swimming, walking and offensive behavior
  • Feeds on small fish, which are identified in the murky waters through a combination of smell and light sensitivity
  • Attraction to light sources suggests jellyrays and spinefish may be amongst its natural prey
  • Aggressive when approached
