Template:Infobox Biome The Kelp Forest is one of the most common biome types in Subnautica. It is characterized by the abundance of Creepvine, and possesses a distinct greenish hue in the water.

Description

The Kelp Forest is one of the most productive and dynamic ecosystems on the planet. They are also known to be the home of the Stalkers.

It is located at medium depths, and is home to many passive life forms, with the exception of StalkersBleeders, and Drooping Stingers. The seabed is composed of mossy ground and a sandy bottom, and the terrain is comprised of grassy knolls and arches, sometimes showing entrances to small cavern systems. The Kelp Forests also contain large numbers of Creepvines

Most of the raw materials found here are at medium-level depths, with many harvesting nodes such as Limestone and Sandstone. The Creepvine Seed clusters, found on some Creepvines, not only provide light and a beautiful night time scenery, but are also crucial ingredients for making lubricant and silicone rubber.

There are currently five Kelp Forests on the map, some containing wrecks or destroyed lifepods.
