Template:Infobox Biome The Blood Kelp Zone is an abyssal biome characterized by a variety of giant Bloodvines, some of which carry Blood Oil pustules down near their stem.

The first zone (aka Blood Kelp Trench) is located south-east from Lifepod 5, between the Dunes, the Sparse Reef, the Grand Reef and the Sea Treader's Path. It consists of a single deep trench with natural rock bridges spanning from one wall to another, and a small cavern system located below the Bloodvines where their roots can be found. One of the Wrecks can be found in the area, stuck between the trench's walls.

A second Blood Kelp Zone can be found to the north of the Life Pod 5, in-between the Mushroom Forest and the Underwater Islands. This zone is considerably larger than the first one, albeit being more exposed to the surface and not as deep. Unique to the Northern Blood Kelp Zone are Crabsquids, Uraninite Crystals, as well as small "floater islands" supported by large Floaters and Blood Cave Roots.

Both Blood Kelp Zones serve as entrances to the Lost River.

Trivia

  • The Blood Kelp Zone's geography appears to be partially based off of the Abyssopelagic and Hadopelagic zones of the ocean, but far more shallow (The Abyssopelagic zone starts at 4000 meters deep).
