Template:Infobox:Fauna Flora The Crabsquid is an in-development life form belonging to the fauna category that has yet to be implemented in the game. However, it can be spawned in using console commands.
Appearance
The Crabsquid's main body has two layers; a translucent, bulbous sac resembling a comb jelly's body, and a shimmering, brown green body similar to that of a real life squid's mantle, albeit being covered with an outer shell or exoskeleton
The Crabsquid's head consists of two pairs of large eyes and an oddly shaped mandible below them.
The Crabsquid's ten limbs are also brown and smooth. Some of them have pointed tips, others have fins, and the two shortest ones near its mouth form a pair of small pincers, capable of grasping.
Behaviour
The Crabsquid will aimlessly swim around on its own, however, if the player or any other creature should get close to it, it will attack, instantly killing small creatures and removing 40% of health from the player. The Crabsquid will also assault bigger creatures if they get close. It can also be observed catching and eating smaller fauna.
The Crabsquid will also land on the seabed, and either push itself in any direction or walk. However, sometimes it may just stay still.
Similiar to the Bone Shark, the Crabsquid is attracted to light, and will follow any type of light source, meaning it can be distracted using lights from the Cyclops, Seamoth, and Flares.
If the player approaches the Crabsquid in the Seamoth, the Crabsquid will follow and push the Seamoth but not do damage to it.
The Crabsquid will emit sonar-like calls, indicating it uses echolocation.

Trivia
- Early animations shows the Crabsquid has the ability to swim, walk and perform a special "blast attack".[1]
- The sounds the Crabsquids emit are similar to those of the Mutos from the 2014 film Godzilla.
