Template:Infobox item The Scanner is a tool capable of scanning fragments, which are then used to create blueprints. To acquire the blueprints of a particular item, the player needs to scan its corresponding fragments multiple times. The amount of times scanning is required varies based on the object. It takes about ten seconds to finish scanning. The Scanner is also able to scan life forms and harvesting nodes, doing so will add its specific entry into the PDA.
When the cursor is pointing at a scannable object, a white circle appears in the middle of the screen. When scanning an object, if the cursor is moved off of it, the scan will be resumed from the previous precentage if resumed scanning the same entity in a timely manner. The Scanner has a range of 5 meters.
