Template:Infobox Biome Underwater Islands is a unique biome in Subnautica, which features many massive rock formations suspended above the ocean floor. Bone Sharks and other types of fauna swim around the these islands.

Most of the Underwater Islands completely rely on the buoyancy provided by giant Floaters. Currently, 18 islands are implemented in the this area. The size of the many "islands" in this biome vary from small to massive. Two of the largest islands have fauna and even some small cave inside.

Thermal vents can be found in the middle of the islands and on the surface. Lava Geysers can also be found in huge numbers on the ocean floor, directly under the islands.

At the moment, the signal device can be used to locate the islands. It will display the distance and lead the player to the caves in the Underwater Islands.

Quartz is a common finding, and on island "shores", diamonds can also be occasionally found. Basalt Chunks are the most common harvesting nodes.

This biome borders the Mushroom Forests, Mountains, and Kelp Forests.

They were first mentioned by the developers on Trello.
