Template:Infobox:Fauna Flora The Crab Snake is a life form belonging to the Fauna category that can be found in the Jelly Shroom Caves inside Jelly Shrooms. They will attack the player if he comes too close and can deal 25-30 health damage.

Appearance

The Crab Snake is slender, serpentine, and very long. Its body is covered in what appears to be something similar to a crab's exoskeleton, however, it is highly flexible and does not seem to impact its movement in any way. The top of the Crab Snake's body is maroon, with horizontal reddish-brown stripes every few feet along its entire length. The underside of the Crab Snake is mostly a whitish-gray color. There are clusters of small bright purple spots placed randomly over the Crab Snake's top. The Crab Snake has two long, translucent fins along the sides of its body, which undulate as the Crab Snake moves.

The face of the Crab Snake is flat, purple, and wrinkled. It has a pair of small fangs in the top-middle of its face. The rest of the Crab Snake's face is taken up by a pair of massive claws, which are grey with pitch-black tips. The Crab Snake is not luminescent, but the Jelly Shroom they reside in and stay around will usually illuminate them. The Crab Snake has no eyes.

Behavior

The Crab Snake will wait inside a Jelly Shroom in an upright position until the player gets too close. At that point it will jump out and grab the player and attack them in a fashion similar to the Reaper Leviathan attack animation. Sometimes it will attack the player and fall back into the mushroom, other times it will leave the mushroom and swim around by twisting its body. Unless agitated again by the player it will return to the Jelly Shroom and wait again.

It does not seem to react to other sea creatures swimming around the mushroom, and will only attack the player. It also cannot damage the Seamoth if it is at safe crush depth, and seems to ignore the Cyclops.
