The Sandshark is a large predatory animal in subnautica. It is located in the kelp forest and red plains biomes. Sandsgarks mostly stay close to the sea floor because they are ambush predators, as their name implies, they like to burrow into the sand and wait for unsuspecting to prey to swim by so they can attack. The Sandshark attracts prey to its location by shuffling around in the sand creating a cloud around itself causing the player to go near it in curiosity. Once the player is close enough the Sandshark will emerge and chase the player, however if the player swims to the surface, the Sandshark will break off the chase and return to the sea floor. Sandsharks also appear to be active at both day and night byt the player should be warnes that this 6ft shark is very hard to spot at night because only itss mouth and eyes are luminescent and is invisible in the dark otherwise.
