Template:Infobox Biome The great Grand Reef is the largest biome in Subnautica. The Grand Reef covers the Southern and Southwestern corner of the map, and offers a vast range of diving possibilities for the player.

Around seven species of fauna live in the Grand Reef, including edible fauna such as Spadefish, Boomerang and Hoopfish. There are also healthy populations of some larger fauna species that can be seen, like the Bone Shark and Jellyray. In the future developers have hinted that the Sea Treader will inhabit the plains of the Grand Reef[1].

The Grand Reef is also known for its many luminous Floating Stones along with Membrane Trees. They are found almost everywhere in the area with different types of resources covering the ground around the flora. Notable areas include the Deep Grand Reef where the thermal vents called "Smokers" are located, in the Southwestern corner of the map.

The most common harvesting node in the Grand Reef are Basalt Chunks. The depth range can variate from around 40m to 400m. Some parts of Grand Reef reach up to the surface, located along the length of Sparse Reef biome.
