The Glow Whale (Placeholder name) is a future fauna species of Subnautica Arctic. It was originally designed by Pat Presley for the original Subnautica, but has now been repurposed as an Expansion creature.

Appearance

The creature's ventral side is white with ridges running from the head to the flukes. Also on the ventral side are a pair small fins directly below each flipper. Interestingly, the patch of skin being touched by the diver in the concept art has lit up.

The dorsal side appears grey and two transparent horn-like appendages protrude backwards from behind the head. There are two dorsal fins, with the front fin larger than the rear fin.

The flippers are large and sail-like, composing of a narrow muscular protrusion with a thin luminescent membrane connected to it. At the very tip of the fin it tapers off into a tendril, at the end of which is a glowing pod. The lower back has prominent ridges and spots, similar to those of a whale shark.

The eyes have a yellow iris and a large black pupil, situated in front of each eye is an orange, luminescent pill-shaped organ set into a hollow the skin. Some barnacles and vegetation can be seen on various parts of the body.
