Template:Infobox item Supply Crates are containers dropped during the crash landing of the Aurora that contain a single random Item. Supply Crates are currently the only way to obtain a signal tool without using the debug console. One of the edges of the Supply Crate features an electronic display that reads "Container" on it.
The Supply Crate does not have any item slots. Instead, activating it will merely open its lid, revealing a single item inside. Many Supply Crates generally spawn on the remains of the ruptured front of the Aurora after it has exploded, or inside wreckage found near the Aurora. They can contain Nutrient Blocks, Disinfected Water, First Aid Kits, Signals, Batteries, Power Cells, Stalker Teeth, Crash Meal, Computer Chips, Rebreathers or nothing.
Other Supply Crates generally spawn close to the Aurora, from the Koosh Zone at its front to the Safe Shallows at its back. Most of them spawn in the radiated area, though, which is inaccessible without a radiation suit.
Known crates types:
Supply Crate
This model is currently no longer available in-game. However this was found on several locations early in the game and had random loot spawned inside. It also had 25 storage slots (5x5) in it, so the player was also able to store items in it.
Small Supply Crate
These are currently spawned around and inside Aurora. These can be open without any tools.
Sealed Supply Crate
These are currently spawned inside Aurora. These can only be open with the Laser Cutter and can contain rare signals.
When aiming at a the Sealed Supply Crate with the Laser Cutter an indicator says "open percent: 0-100%" will appear which are similar to the one that appears on the welding tool are used to repair hull damages. Once the Sealed Supply Crate has been completed cut up the lid will open.
