Appearance

Coral Shell Plates are oval shaped corals, which have bioluminescent yellowish and brown branching patterns on their surface.

They have a slightly rough surface with some pits between the branches.

Trivia

  • Despite data bank entry stating Coral Shell Plate has no practical use they do. When hit with a Survival Knife a few times they yield up to four Coral Tube Samples, which sink if not picked up when harvesting from vertical surfaces; similarly to Table Corals. However, it seems like an unintended and atypical behavior. At these coordinates one can find a harvestable Coral Shell Plate: [-80,5; -40,7; -66,2].

Data Bank Entry

This variant of coral has adapted to survive in close proximity to other corals, filtering nutrients from the water and sharing them via a spore-like substances which grows around the base.
