Template:Infobox:Fauna Flora The Sandshark is a large life form belonging to the fauna category.

It is generally hostile towards the player. The Sandshark can be found in the Grassy Plateaus biome and they appear to be active at both day and night. When it's dark, the Sandshark's mouth has a red bioluminescent glow to it.

A 3D model of the Sandshark can be found here.

Appearance

The Sandshark has a segmented, blue, dotted back from head to tail with each segment having a tip tag on each joint. The body has sharp edges on the outside. On top of its head, it features a large fin reminiscent of a rhinozeros' horn. The Sandshark has four yellow eyes, which are divided into sets of two on each side. It has a wide, red mouth in front with six rows of sharp teeth. The Sandshark has one long pectoral fin on each side of the body. Underneath its golden-orange belly, it features six feet on each side, which are arranged in parallel rows. The tail is short and pointed in one joint.

Behavior

Sandsharks commonly stay close to the sea floor. As their name implies, they like to burrow into the sand and wait for unsuspecting prey to swim by so they can attack. The Sandshark attracts prey to its location by shuffling around in the sand creating a cloud around itself causing the player to go near it out of curiosity. Once the player is close enough to the Sandshark, it will emerge from the sand and chase the player. However, if the player swims to the surface, the sandshark will break off the chase and return to the sea floor.
