Alien Artifact Terminals are found around or within almost every Precursor Base and Cache. They act as locks and are each connected to a forcefield, preventing progression through the base unless the corresponding Artifact is used. The majority of Artifact Terminals require a Purple Artifact to be deactivated, though there are two exceptions to this; the Terminal outside of the Lost River Laboratory, which requires the Orange Artifact, and the currently unimplemented Terminal in the Primary Containment Facility, which will require a Blue Artifact.
Data Bank Entry
This device appears to be alien in origin, and is connected up to a nearby forcefield. The technology is far beyond anything encountered before by the federation. Nonetheless, it appears to function like a normal lock, it only needs the correct kind of key. |
