Appearance

Barnacles are similar in appearance to the Blue Barnacle Cluster and clearly have some sort of relation to them. Barnacles are also found on real life whales which may hint some similarity between the Reefback and the aforementioned. As of now, their hitbox is very strange to certain players, and some may not be able to interact with them at all.
