The Beacon is a machine crafted by using the fabricator.

The beacon can mark locations, for example caves, biomes or the habitat of rare life forms. It may be placed in the ocean and picked up again after each use.

It works similar to the life pod and Cyclops marker, sending out a visible pulse that is slightly different from the life pod's beacon. Although, too many beacons can be hard to keep track of.
