The Degasi was a mining ship that crashed on Planet 4546B around a decade prior to the events of Subnautica, in similar circumstances to the Aurora.
Three Crew members of the Degasi survived the crash, these three were Paul Torgal, his son, Bart Torgal, and Marguerit Maida, a hired mercenary.
Paul, Bart and Marguerit scrapped the Degasi in order to construct the Abandoned Seabase found on the Floater Island. Later on they built bases in the Jelly Shroom Caves and the Deep Grand Reef.
