Tools are crafted from materials and advanced materials using the Fabricator.

Tools can either:

be carried in the inventory and be equipped to the toolbar. Examples are the knife or flashlight.
reside as an object in the world which can be interacted with. An example is the Constructor (a tool for constructing bigger vehicles).

Equipment can also consume energy, like the flashlight or SeaGlide.

Some equipment can currently only be spawned using Debug Console Commands.

One uncraftable tool, the signal, can currently only be found in the experimental mode.
