Template:Infobox:Fauna Flora The Acid Mushroom (previously the Purple Mushroom) is an edible fungus belonging to the flora.
Once collected it can be eaten for +2 food, or three units can be used with one copper to create a battery. As a food source, it is useful if needed in a hurry, but otherwise unremarkable. Its use in batteries makes it far more valuable.
Appearance
The Acid Mushroom appears to be an aquatic form of fungus. It has a very thick cap that appears to pulse. There are two varieties. The smaller variety is purple, while the larger variety has a purple body with a redish cap top.
At the moment, both varieties have an item symbol that resembles the larger variety. However, the game will remember which type of Mushroom the player picked up. When the player drops a Mushroom, it will regain its original form.
Behavior
The Acid Mushroom displays two kinds of defensive mechanisms.
If cut by a knife, it will harm the player with acid.
When approached by a player, the larger variety starts to shrink. However, at the moment, this does not seem to have been fully implemented. Some of the larger Mushrooms and all of the smaller ones seem to start to shiver once approached.
