Lava Zones are areas of the ocean floor that spew out lava and steam.
Some of the craters can be found deep in caves and others may be found in the open ocean. Every few seconds, the craters erupt, much like geysers, tossing steam and chunks of lava into the air. They can only be observed from a safe distance, as their eruptions will cause massive damage to the player. However, it is possible to survive an eruption if one exposes oneself only for a short time.
The craters are often resource-rich and it might be worth taking the risk to loot them. In their vicinity, diamonds can be found.
Currently, touching bottom of the craters itself doesn't do any damage to the players, as long as the player retreats before the crater erupts again. It is also possible to stay inside the crater during the eruptions without taking damage, either by staying at the crater's side or by digging a hole into the ground.
