The only way to 'permanently' eliminate the plant is to use the Terraformer to construct a dome around the plant so it does not get line of sight on the player. Keep in mind, for this to work no part of the plant can be phased through the dome. |

Template:Infobox:Fauna Flora The Spike Plant is a life form belonging to the flora category. It is commonly found in rocky areas of the Grassy Plateaus and its caves. It is aggressive to the player and creatures and active during day and night.
Appearance
The Spike Plant consists of small clusters of red-orange, padded tendrils with several green-yellow spikes protruding from them. Its surface is also covered with a line pattern.
Behavior
When the Spike Plant has a line of sight on a target within 15 meters, it triggers the attack animation and launches a small cluster of spikes at the apex of the animation.
Each arm launches a spike aimed towards the target, although not with perfect precision. The spikes fly through the water instantaneously, leaving a visible trail. When a spike hits something live, it does puncture damage [1]. It doesn’t damage other Spike Plants of any kind.
The damage dealt is small but can add up quickly. It is encouraged to freeze the plant using a Stasis Rifle whenever scavenging the ocean floor in the vicinity of a Spike Plant. Spike Plants do not attack the player if they are in the Seamoth submarine.
The only way to 'permanently' eliminate the plant is to use the Terraformer to construct a dome around the plant so it does not get line of sight on the player. Keep in mind, for this to work no part of the plant can be phased through the dome.
A 3D model of the Spike Plant can be found on Sketchfab.
