Weather is a game mechanic that will be implemented in Below Zero. Snow, rain and lightning will feature as weather types[1][2]. Other types of weather have yet to be confirmed.

Weather Types

Several different weather types will be present in gameplay.[3]

Mild

Light snow or rain

Heavy

Blizzard/Low visibility conditions

Extreme

Hail, Lighting, Tornadoes

Monitoring

The current weather and future forecast can be viewed using a Control Room and Weather Station.

Trivia

  • Weather was originally planned and worked on during the development of Subnautica such as rain for example, however it was scrapped after alterations to the skybox.
