Escape scary underwater hazards with this temporary speed boost.
― PDA.

The Booster Tank is a special oxygen tank with the ability to trade oxygen for a speed boost. It has the same capacity as the High Capacity O₂ Tank at 90 units, for a total of 135 when it is equipped. Equipping one also incurs the same movement penalty of 0.47 m/s underwater and 0.61 m/s on the surface.
Usage
The Booster Tank is equipped in the paperdoll UI's oxygen tank slot. The player can press Shift to slightly boost swimming speed by approximately 0.5m/s, at the cost of an additional five units of oxygen per second. The Booster Tank only works off the Oxygen actually in the tank, and cannot be activated using the final 45 units which represent Robin Ayou's lung capacity. It also cannot be used close to the surface.
Recipe
The blueprint for this item is acquired from a Data Box found in Purple Vents, located in a narrow trench below the area where the Chelicerate patrols. A Data Box for the item can also be found at a tech site under a geothermally active fissure within the Tree Spires. It is crafted with the Fabricator.

Trivia
- When first introduced, the Booster Tank more than doubled the player's swim speed and could be used without any limit while on the surface, making it the fastest method of traversing the world.
