Supply Crates are containers left behind by Alterra during their operations on 4546B. They contain useful items that can be picked up by the player.
The Supply Crate is not treated as a form of storage with an inventory grid. Instead it is a physical box with a lid that opens to allow access to in-world items inside. Once any items inside are taken, the Supply Crate remains: while the lid can be manipulated and objects discarded inside the crate if the player desires, it is essentially just a functionless piece of scenery.
Sealed Supply Crates can only be found in the Mercury II. They can only be opened using a Laser Cutter.
Sea Monkeys can steal certain items out of opened supply crates.
