Trivia
- Uraninite Crystals were formerly used to craft an intermediary material called Uranium, at a rate of three Uraninite Crystals to one Uranium. Uranium was removed in the Voice of the Deep update of 2017 to simplify the Reactor Rod recipe.
- Uraninite Crystals were previously part of the recipes for the Cyclops Shield Generator and Prawn Suit Thermal Reactor. In both cases the Uraninite in these recipes was replaced with Polyaniline.
- When picked up, the player's Geiger counter will go off briefly. This is purely a cosmetic pickup sound and can never result in damage.
- The chemical formula for Uraninite Crystals (U3O8) is that of triuranium octoxide, a form very common in "yellowcake" powder. This is actually a relatively un-radioactive and extremely stable form of uranium prior to enrichment, as it is over 99% uranium-238, an isotope with a half-life of 4 billion years.
