The Beacon is a machine crafted by using the fabricator.

The Beacon can mark locations, for example caves, biomes or seabases. It may be placed in the ocean and picked up again after each use. When placed the Beacon will remain suspended where it is placed.

It works similarly to the beacons installed on the life pod, Cyclops and Seamoth except the pulse is circular.

The Beacon pings are faded out when nearby. When 1000 meters from the beacon the signal goes from custom text to plain round ping signal. Too many Beacons can be hard to keep track of.

A Beacon can be renamed by clicking on its front panel. A maximum of ten characters is supported.
