It is the only reliable early-game source of Silver until the player can mine Large Resource Deposits. It can be found in biomes such as the Kelp Forest or the Dunes where it is most often found on walls, inside caves, and rarely at the end of particularly deep or inaccessible Safe Shallows Caves. The player can break Sandstone Outcrops to obtain the material contained inside. Sandstone looks nearly identical to Limestone Outcrops, so it may be difficult to spot one. Most outcrops in the upper levels of the Kelp Forest are Limestone, whereas Sandstone is typically found in the lower parts and caves.
